Steering Committee

The Steering Committee (SC) is composed of representatives from the national agricultural research and extension systems (NARES) from collaborating countries, donor representatives, the IRRI Deputy Director General for Research, and the Consortium Coordinator. The SC is the policy-making body of the TRRC to implement its research agenda, particularly at the policy and resource allocation levels.   

Specific responsibilities are as follows:

• Endorse the overall research agenda for the Consortium;

• Approve the annual program of activities, including SC Meetings, technical workshops, conferences, training programs, site visits, and planning meetings;

• Review progress reports, financial reports, and funding proposals presented by Working Groups for submission to donor agencies; 

• Develop strategies for non-member institutions and countries to benefit from Consortium research; 

• Elect the Consortium Chair at every annual SC Meeting; and

• Consider and approve requests (within budgetary limits) for admission to the Consortium by new institutions.
